The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Symphonic Band returns to Symphony Space for a dynamic concert featuring music that was composed by New Yorkers or inspired by the city.
Featured on the program will be the world premiere of a new piece commissioned by the LGBAC from acclaimed composer and New York City resident Clint Borzoni. We are also thrilled to welcome guest clarinet soloist Vladimir Gessen, winner of the very first LGBAC concerto competition. Our host for the evening will be Brian Silva, Executive Director of Marriage Equality U.S.A.
Plus, we are thrilled to honor gay rights icon Edie Windsor with our Profile in Leadership award.
Artistic Director Kelly Watkins and Associate Director Nolan Dresden will also lead the band in such NYC-centric works as:
World premier of Symphonic Fanfare for Equality – Clint Borzoni
